I always believed "the strip" to be on the outskirts of the city in the desert, when in reality it is in the city surrounded by buildings. I suppose the whole area around the strip was desert at one time tho. Also, is the strip and the gambling resorts all confined to this one area or can smaller casinos be found throughout the city: and do the year around residents look at the the resorts as separate from city life,(schools, churches,businesses) or are they all somehow interrelated?
