Just to the north of it, you can see one of the main parking lots for Turner Field where they overlaid the outline of the field for Fulton County Stadium (former home of the Braves).
men, the parking lot is sooooo big, compared to the stadium!
The parking lot may look huge, but last October for game 5 of the NLDS against Houston, you couldn’t get a spot in there for love nor money…
We had to park way over the other side of I75/85 and walk 15 minutes to get there
what’s up with the baseball diamond in the parking lot?
That looks like where the original baseball field for Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium used to be. Both stadia were used during the 96 Olympipcs, but then the older stadium was demolished. It seems like a nice remembrance of what was once there.
Also at the site of the old Fulton-County Stadium you can see the spot on the left field wall where Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth’s homerun record. It was kind of cool to keep the spot where it happen, just a little odd now that it is in the middle of a parking lot.
well what kind of grass is it?
