There’s loads of cool things to find in Manhattan, but this shot of the Empire State Building is probably the best. The photo is at quite an angle so you can see a lot of the building. Also, over to the West, you can easily spot Madison Square Garden; it’s the big circle.

Not all of Honolulu is hi-res yet, but check out Diamond Head State Monument, which appears to be, er… inside an old volcano?

Remember the super secret bunker they always use in Stargate, Deep Impact and various other films? Well, here it is. It’s official name is the Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center and is designed “to ensure 70 percent probability of continuing to function against a five megaton weapon with a three mile circular error probability”.

More weird patterns and colours here with some pollution controlling algae salt ponds in the San Francisco Bay and some salt pools potash mine run-off pools in the Utah mountains. (Via)
