Whaa? They got rid of the paddleboat? {sniff, sniff...}

And while we're talking about wooden roller-coasters - the original Carowinds wooden coaster "Thunder Road" is the long East-West one across the southwestern side of the park. You don't notice it until you look for it.

I actually live right down the road from there. We have season passes to Carowinds, and Beth is right. They're open during the summer every day, but in the Spring & Fall, only on weekends. They're closed all winter. That is the Hurler. Also, that strange squarish river thing you see in the center used to be an old-time Mark Twain paddle boat, but now it is the Borg rollercoaster, and metal green thing. Hopefully they'll update the picture soon. Also, that greenish, swampy squarish thing is the Big Wave Pool in the water park. My guess is, since it's green, the pic was probably taken in the Winter, cuz it's bright, swimming-pool, blue when you go there in the summer.

they're only open on weekends from roughly memorial day to labor day, like a lot of other amusement parks (except disney) so my guess would be its a weekday in spring or early, so the sun is shining but the park isn't open.
