Skywalker Ranch, San Rafael

Saturday, 21st May 2005 by James

Yesterday the staff of Google Sightseeing (and everyone else by the queues) went to see Star Wars Episode III, so it seems a good time to post George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch in San Rafael, California. In the middle of the photo you can see George’s ‘Ewok Lake’, if you ask me he should have called it “Lake Luke”.

Skywalker Ranch is actually located in Nicasio not San Rafael. You can see the newer Big Rock Ranch if you scroll over to the East a bit. Notice the black area from a grass fire that happend in late 2002.

Jeff is right, the Skywalker Ranch is not on the map. This is bizarre… I know the area very well and I can’t find it. And what you’re showing is definitly not the Skywalker Ranch.

sorry guys, I got confused, it is the Skywalker Ranch indeed. We can see the fire station, the sound studio and Lucas’ compound…
