Today Google quietly updated its map service to add high-resolution aerial photography for much more of the globe than the previous limited coverage of North America. New additions include Scotland, Iceland, Kuwait and many, many more.

Here at Google Sightseeing we’ll be featuring new sights from all these countries and will be accepting submission of the cool things that our readers find. If you find somewhere cool please make sure to read our FAQ about getting the correct web address and make sure to include the city and country for your location on our submissions form.

That’d be the step pyramid. Rather well known, I believe.

OK… this is a bit off topic, but does anyone know what this is? Other than the obvious (a spiral road on a hill).

Comment for Scott regarding spiral road on a hill. Did some looking around and it looks like it is a place called Memorial Hill in Midway, Utah. Google it and you’ll find some pics of events that take place annually on top of the hill. Other than that, it’s pretty non-descript, just some hill with a neat pattern from above.

  13. Patrick says:

There is also a C-141 Starlifter on the taxiway getting ready to take off…..scroll around and there are some incredibly rugged and mountainous areas in Afghanisan….Osama been hidin’.

  14. Patrick says:

I think I may have found the first case of marine life….a giant devil ray!! They can grow to be up to 30 feet wide. This one is swimming near an island off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. I had earlier found some cows in Wyoming but this is a bit more exotic….the dark grey triangular shape smack in the middle of the pic.
