A war in which we supported the Iraq side. To damage this place would cause massive problems for U.S. soldiers. You'd be better to not touch it. It is a Memorial built not for Saddam's ego but is just as important as the Vietnam or WWII Monuments in Washington, D.C. I cannot believe that an army soldier did not know or was not told what these were. Are we that ignorant? At least know a little before invading some country for a reason. We were tould not to directly do any damage to the place, it was a sacred site from some reason to the locals, and from what I saw no one did anything to mess the place up. Got some great pictures though, the muesum and auditoruim underneath the place was ransacked by looters(Iraqi's themselves). Everything was gone, except some old Iraq Flags and uniforms,old and new, some of which these were probaly ditched by fleeing Iraq troops. In every direction you looked, you could see the shells of former buildings, but this place was pretty much left un dameged, and probaly the coolest thing I saw in that country out of the both times I was there.
