Friday, 26th August 2005 by James

Zizkov TV Tower in Prague is 219 meters high and apparently gives a great view over the city from the observation compartments and restaurant at 93 metres. More info on the official website.

There are some weird child statues that are climbing the Zizkov TV Tower that are not showing either on the official site.

I went up that tower a couple of months ago.

It belongs to a “tower Club” and has pictures of other towers all over the inside.

    Its very tall…

Marco: “Tower babies” are work of conceptual artist David Cerny. First baby was intended to go to the Museum of Modern Arts in Chicago, but due to the financial problems, it never happened. However, the baby statue was cast in fiberglass and shown in London (1999) and New York.
Then the babies were put on the TV tower and they are there for good (or until they fall off :-)).
There was a funny rumour, that one of the babies’ heads is filled with cannabis. It wasn’t true and it is possible, that the rumour originated from Cerny himself. Well, that’s conceptual artist for ya…. :-)
