Actually these GIGIANTIC flags are all over Mexico, in all major cities you’ll probably find one. They where erected around 1998. many of them are around 300ft tall.

There is a huge flag in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico. At the moment of its erection (1998 too) it was the biggest flag of the world. Hopefully someone will find it in google and share it with us.

That year of 1998 the president ordered to erect huge flags in all important ports of mexico. Im not sure but i think it was the 150th aniversary of the first mexican flag, designed in Iguala, Guerrero.

Well that is one of the gigantic flags but after reading the link of "more on the flags" they didn't mention about the flags in Mexico City. I live in here and as far as i know there are at least 4 or 5 more only in here i guess in the big cities we can found at least one... ^^

Russ, although I've never been there, I am fairly certain that is immigration and customs. The line of cars to the south provides some confirmation of that fact.

is that USA immigration/customs? yet there's traffic going between the countries a bit to the west over Convent Av? maybe that bridge in only one way southward?

There's a gigantic Jordanian flag in Aqaba, Jordan. It can be seen from about fifty or so miles away, towering over the city and the royal Jordanian palace there.
It's relatively new (a few months), but even if it wasn't, the whole area is very low-res on Google Maps and Google Earth :(

Many Laredo businessmen pitched in to erect the US flag, which WAS in response to the flag in Mexico. The first flag that was erected there in 1998 was HUGE and could be seen clear across town However, it was so large that it was eventually torn apart by winds and the current one is a bit more sensible.
