Brightly-Coloured Beijing Cars

Wednesday, 28th September 2005 by Alex

Check out all these brilliantly brightly-coloured cars on this highway in Beijing.

I’m not sure though why these cars seem quite so colourful, and perhaps it’s simply down to the combination of an over-saturated image and a very sunny day, but it sure looks cool :-) However, there could be a clue further down the road, where it appears that the image’s colour channels aren’t properly aligned.

Colour missed car

Actually, if you scroll north and south along the road, as well as hundreds of other similarly luminous cars, there’s also several quite cool looking intersections.

Thanks to Philip Ng.

Those blue roofed buildings look strange as well. Colour is definetly messed up.

Damn, thats some bad traffic. Just to the east of the first link posted, there looks like a really nice park and a lake. If you keep going it there is a large statue, with a big shadow. Anybody know what it is?

Looks like a traffic jam due to an accident or a broken down car or HDV to me. Btw, do they drive on the left or on the right hand side in China? ;-)

Going even souther there’s Placemark: another cool-looking intersection / Google Earth with some nice figures in the grass.

answer to Lukas Boesiger’s question: we drive on the left side.

    to shi and Lukas:

Actually we drive on the right side!

Since China has censored all other forms of expression, car color is all that is left. Although the Chinese government will probably soon require that all vehicles be dog-turd brown

Give it a break - China has many problems but so does my country and whichever country you live in. Lets enjoy the view and keep politics out of it! :-)

Some people, like Erock, just can’t help showing off that they are idi**s who refuse to believe that a nice country of nice people is growing more and more rich, powerful (still alwyas peaceful, not like what YOUR governments are trying to paint for YOU).

Well, mark my words, those idi**s will just have to continue their sufferings. LOL!
