The coordinates for the Taipei 101 are 25 02'00.43 N, 121 33'54.53 E .

The shadow is a dead giveaway. :o)

Its definintely in the less-dense area south of the sharp curve in the river. You can see the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall clearly in the low-res, just east of Jilong Road which runs diagonally SSW from the bridge over the bend. The Blue Line metro runs along Zhongxiao Rd just north of the memorial. That means Taipei City Hall is the blue building just west of Jilong Road and a block south of Zhongxiao Rd. Taipei 101 is two blocks south of City Hall, just north of major Xinyi Rd. Taipei WTC is next to Taipei 101 to the west, just inside the intersection of Jilong and Xinyi.

For some reason google sighseeing didn't like the last link. Perhaps [this](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Liyu_2004c_The_Grand_Hotel_Taipei.jpg) will work.

I have searched for the 101 tower, however I suspect it is in low res, somewhere around here:
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=25.044159,121.577024&spn=0.039374,0.060176&t=k&hl=en

I couldn't find its lattitude and longatude online, however I figured out the rough location from several maps I found via google, showing where it is.

Here is the grand hotel in taipei however:
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=25.078700,121.525848&spn=0.004920,0.007522&t=k&hl=en

And from the ground:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Liyu_2004c_The_Grand_Hotel_Taipei.jpg

One day I plan on having lunch there ... but I need to get from Australia to Taiwan first :-)

Based on the map at http://home.trtc.com.tw/INFO92/ebigmap.asp?number=bl13

I am pretty sure that Taipei 101 must be here:
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=taipei&ll=25.032728,121.565094&spn=0.048908,0.070776&t=k&hl=en

I think [these are the Petronas towers][1]. I'm talking about the two little circly thingies on the white area. They have tall shadows, if you look closely.

Speaking of tall towers, why are Petronas & Taipei 101 so hard to find? I've tried many times to get the right coordinates, and I must not be searching right. I've found some Google Earth links, but as I've got a mac (Powerbook G3), they don't help me much ...

I'm also surprised that when I look, the imagery of the areas is lo-res. I'd think that, being the tallest skyscapers out there, they'd be imaged much higher ...
