Boy’s Town

Friday, 21st October 2005 by James

The Laredo “Boy’s town” in Mexico is a legal prostitution area which, not by chance, is just over from Laredo, Texas. A Dallas Observer article goes into further details of the American young men who frequent the area.

In the aerial photo you can plainly see the 8-foot wall around the “Boy’s Town” which keeps it separate from the rest of the town. There is only one entrance and exit, to the east, which can be seen in the thumbnail below.

Vincent Thomas Bridge

Spanning the LA Harbour is the Vincent Thomas Bridge. At full zoom the shadow on the striking green water gives a very good detail of the bridge’s shape.

Ship Rocket Thing?

Friday, 21st October 2005 by Alex

What kind of ship is this? It seems to be using a very strange propulsion system, which makes it look like a cross between a ship and a rocket!

On further investigation I found another one to the west, and after having a closer look in Google Earth, I now believe these are barges being pushed along the thin waterways by small tug-type boats. Does anyone know what they’re transporting?
