Fans of GGSS Integrated maps will be pleased to know they now work much better. The betterness includes…

  • Automatic zooming to the bounds of a post’s or category’s map points.
  • Default satellite mode.
  • Logical category ordering in the selection drop down.
  • Points from new posts actually show on the map.
  • Bacon.

Of course, feedback and feature requests are always welcome.

Can we not have info windows (when you click on the points) in Safari?

Am I allowed to make a feature request on my own site…?

    I think so!

I have a request. You guys probably have a reason for not doing it but it would be nice if the map links were targeted to open in a new window. There is a bug where if you right click and do open in new window the map usually zooms way out, or moves coordinates all together. At least in IE7, not sure about anything else.

Of course it works fine now, just would make it easier (especially with posts that have multiple google maps links).

I like to see at least one more level of zoom.

Gimpsta – I’ll look into making the map links open in a new window, can’t see any reason why not.

David – Sadly we’re not in charge of the available zoom levels on Google maps.

    OK, I don’t see any bacon… :)
