Orito Village in County of Monforte del Cid in Alicante Province in Valencia Autonomous Region, East Coast of Spain.

The figure - made of white painted stones -represents the saint "san pascual bailón" because he lived in a cave in this hills in the XVI century.

Now there is a sanctuary next to "the cross" where a big celebration is been made on May 17th.

More info (in Spanish :-) ) in http://www.dip-alicante.es/monforte/monforte/ciudad/rutas.asp?sec=3

Ground level foto (where the figure can hardly be seen in the right end)

I wonder what this thing is just to the northeast of the man on the hill: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=38.386746,-0.652270&spn=0.007078,0.013902&t=k&hl=en. Looks like a huge dried up pool with a deep end and everything, but it's probably a reservoir.
