At 58 feet long and 928 times the size of an actual termite, Nibbles Woodaway (as he was named in a radio competition) is the world’s largest bug.

The giant creepy crawly is attached to the roof of New England Pest Control and is dressed up in seasonal gear for July 4th, Halloween and Christmas.

Ground-level photos, and more information than you could ever care to read, on Quahog.org.

Oh, I’m new to googlesightseeing, and this Providence I-95 favorite is a very welcome familiar site to me.

I like the write-up on Roadside America for the bug:

I’m disappointed that this has yet to make it on family guy, given that they live in the same town

Ah yes, the Big Blue Bug. I always look forward to passing it whenever we drive west through Providence. My other favorite roadside ad is the huge inflatable lock that was on the side of the Fortress storage center going north into Boston on I-93, but I think that’s been gone for a while now. :(

Hmmm… I though the Griffins lived in Quahog?

Come on, no dumb and dumber fans in here????!?!?!

Tho it is a VERY brief appearance, this is the bug the guys point out when driving in Rhode Island in the movie Dumb and Dumber!

  9. Veronica says:

Just for the record, there is no city of “Quahog” in Rhode Island. The fictional city is most likely based on Warwick, the second-largest city in RI (and my hometown). Unfortunately, there is no “31 Spooner St” here though… :(
