I asked them about Trial Bank as i'd seen it on a map. They confirmed it was built as a freshwater reservoir in the 70's but the plan was abandoned as too costly. From the side view it has a raised outer rim. It is currently inhabited by sea birds and seals. I've always heard from the villagers that they were going to try to make a reservoir but didn't get very far. I always meant to take a boat out there one day... But it is almost impossible to find any info on it. I would love to see a picture of it but from what I can tell the only picture on the net is the one kjfitz provided.
