Remember a while ago when we featured the Mega Ramp - a giant skate-ramp built by professional nutter skateboarder Danny Way?

Well, here’s another location of one of his crazy stunts - The Hard Rock cafe in Las Vegas. The giant Fender Stratocaster sticking out of the building was used as the launch point for the world’s largest bomb drop where Danny jumped off the guitar, was in free fall for 28m, and then landed on the 56m tall ramp. Here’s a video of the event.

Why glorify something so stupid and uninspired as a gravity check? Does having the guts to do this stunt make this guy cool, creative, or a great athelete?

I admire creativity, guts, athleticism, and an inspired performance - but this did nothing for me. Sorry to any folks that thought this was cool, but I’ve got to ask: why did you think it was?

    Yes, yes it does.

This particular site on the other hand is kinda …meh. I know with the huge update there’s gotta be more interesting sites than this out there.

If nothing else.. this is entertainment. If you dont find it amazing or even worth your time then “turn the channel” I suppose.

This is creative—nobody else had even thought to drop off this thing. And it’s not just guts, trying to stay on a skateboard at that kind of speed is no mean feat.

This is cool, that guy is one awesome skater.

By the way, its Fender Stratocaster - one word :)

    Cheers for the awesome site.

Oops, thanks Ben - I clearly know nothing about guitars!

    Hi,

I am not a skateboarder, I was more interested in the guitar, but that was an awesome video. How many times did you try it? Were you able to keep the board under you all the way?

    Great stuff!

    Best
