Happy Globe/Man Thing
Check out this cool (and very chirpy looking) globe/man thing on a roof in Tokyo. He appears to be wearing a busboy’s hat… or is it… a manhole cover?
There’s some characters on the roof too, but unfortunately Japanese is all Greek to me, so it’s over to you guys to shed some light on this odd little dude!
Thanks: For nothing.

I don’t know who or what he is, but thanks to my great japanese translating skills it says “water recycling center” under it.
It’s a man hole cover. This is a sewage processing plant in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
Walked passed it once - it’s huge.

His name is “aasu-kun” after Earth. Designed for indicating “sewerage system makes Earth clean”.
