I can't be sure, but the planes on the aircraft carrier make the TerraServer photo look older. Also, on the Yahoo Maps aerial, there is no ghost pier, although I think you can *almost* make out its edge. I dragged my wife there whilst in New York last year, purely because I'd seen in on Google Maps and thought it looked like a cool place to visit. Using the nearby lorry as a gauge that is quite a gap between the piers with no visible link. It seems too far to jump and to get a boat just to write some rude words seems a bit over the top.
