In the US, anyway, ship containers are placed on flatbed trailers, usually several to a trailer, and this looks like only one trailer. By discussing the issue with a physics friend of mine, he explained that "the weight of the truck has been thrown outwards...so it took a wide fast arc and was on one side's wheels before it totally toppled." My original conclusion was drawn by using a coin to see which way it fell, but sadly the same weight distribution cannot be applied to an articulated lorry. :D I've edited the post to correct it!
