There are some interesting pictures of "Thames Town" and "Venice Aquatic City" on the website of the Washington Post.

But what's new? There have been many replicas of Chinese gardens and pavilions in Europe, for example this one in Brussels: http://googlesightseeing.com/maps?p=&c=&t=k&hl=en&ll=50.893786,4.360912&z=18

@Jonathan sorry, that's misleading - I should have omitted the world "exactly"! I like the colour of Tokyo's though - just 'cos it has such a cool name "International Orange".

I don't think the Tokyo Tower is exactly the same design as the Eiffel tower. It's nowhere near as elegant, the most immediately noticeable difference being that the lifts run right up the middle, rather than up the legs as in the rather more innovative original. I've never liked the colour scheme either - it makes it look like a gigantic road cone!

Here's our previous article about the Tokyo Tower which is based on exactly the same design as the Eiffel Tower, but is actually 8.6 metres taller!
