Shock News: Man Sleeps in Street
In an utterly shocking turn of events, a very-probably homeless/alcoholic/drug addicted1 man has quite clearly passed-out in a doorway here in Philadelphia!
This piece of shocking privacy-invasion follows the discovery of a similar image last week in which a young man was pictured passed out on a grass verge2. Despite the fact the man’s face wasn’t pictured, the sight of him sleeping on the roadside was enough to make him furious, and he made sure everyone knew all about it by venting his anger to Britain’s crappest newspaper.
The privacy issues surrounding the launch of Street View in Australia have been widely publicised, and in response Google Australia have been pro-actively removing potentially offensive images extremely quickly - this one was removed before it even appeared on Street View Fun.
Given that our Philadelphian is more likely to be drunk and homeless than a student from a nice Australian neighbourhood, you have to wonder whether this latest image will be removed as quickly, if at all3.

I´m not sure I would call Lakes Entrance a “nice Australian neighbourhood”!
@ dikko - hey, they have grass, the area can’t be all bad! Of course I’m unable to examine that exact place in detail due to the image having been removed… however a little Placemark: down the street / Google Earth it all looks quite nice really!
What I don’t understand is why Google is giving in so easily. After all, it’s not their fault that this guy chooses to sleep on the roadside just when the Street View car is passing by. In fact, they should sue him! Now the entire world has to suffer because *we* cannot see part of Broome Street, Lakes Entrance! It’s a shame!
How do we know this guy isn’t just faking being passed out as the car passes just so he can cause trouble with google later? Some people live off the need to complain about something.

people need to stop complaining about having there photo taken out side..
this is the same as some one walking down the street and taking photos.
there is nothing you or any one can do about that. you have no reasonable
expectation of privacy in a public setting. i dont know why every one has a
problem with it when there are cameras all over the place and more being put
up all the time. no one asks who is looking at thoes..
