Yes, one can actually see the oppressive regime from the air: No people in the streets. No cars. Very few, standardised yellow busses. Huge highway systems. And, despite being rather densely populated (comparable to most european countries), it is completely dark at night. Eerie.

Check out the traffic (or, rather, the lack thereof) on the roads in Pyongyang — especially the highways.

Not really missing (since he has been confirmed dead) but fitting in nicely is the former First Secretary of the Turkmen Communist Party and the first President of Turkmenistan, Saparmyrat Ataýewiç Nyýazow, a.k.a. Türkmenbaşy (I copied & pasted that). In good communist megalomaniac tradition, he restyled the capital Aşgabat into his personal monument.
