Nearest large town is Gillette, Wyo, my wife's hometown. Back when they were filming Close Encounters on location, they were casting for extras in town. My father-in-law tried to get in, but was rejected on account of his height - 6'5". I guess Spielberg wanted a more homogenous crowd - "the nail that sticks out will be pounded down." Then there's the cows that appeared dead on the side of the road...supposedly belonged to a local rancher...were they killed or just tranquilized? Ask the SPCA...</p> Great view of a great place.
