CN Tower
The CN Tower and Rogers Centre (formerly the Skydome, home of the Blue Jays) are in downtown Toronto, Canada. Look for the tower’s shadow to see its shape.

The first stadium is the San Francisco 49er’s Stadium Monster Park (formerly 3com park) (thumbnail #1 below) and it seems they were playing at the moment the photo was taken.
There’s lots of stadiums in this shot of Philadelphia In the North West there’s the Veterans Stadium before it was demolished on March 21, 2004, North East is Citizen’s Bank Park still under construction (opened April 9, 2004) and South East is Lincoln Financial Field (opened August 8, 2003). In the South West is First Union Center & First Union Spectrum, each with large type on the roof.
Lastly we have the amazing Olympic Stadium complex in Montreal (thumbnail #2 below), which was built for the 1976 Summer Olympic Games.

A very popular submission has been the The Gateway Arch or rather it’s massive shadow, ‘raydancer’ notes that is it the tallest national monument is the United States at 630 feet and is just as wide. If you look West a bit you’ll find the first of our new category, Stadiums (we’ve got loads to post!). It’s apparently the Busch Stadium (St. Louis Cardinals), although one submitter noted that it is due to be demolished.
“caknuck” also points out the comparison of the highly-developed downtown with the heavily-industrialized & much-poorer East St. Louis, Illinois directly across the river. Finally, “Moxie Dan” points out the Anheuser Busch brewery (the largest beer brewery in the world) is just to the south.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a 60ft rock carving featuring (left to right) former U.S. Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
Props to xylon (and many others).
Following on from the ‘Dave’ post yesterday I’ve created a new category for legible text called ‘Large Type’.
The first of which is the Staples Centre, LA (Props: jbum). I’d like to think they put the text there on the off chance that James Bond was passing by in a helicopter and really needed a paperclip to defuse the bomb that was onboard. He’d look out the window, spot the Staples Centre, the world would be safe and he’d be home in time for Tea.
It’s more likely that the centre is in a popular flight-path – but you never know
