A corn maze announcing the annual Iowa – Iowa State football game just East of Ames, Iowa. The image is on its side but you should be able to see the University of Iowa’s ‘Herky the Hawk’ to the right and Iowa State University’s ‘Cy’ tornado-thing to the left. Below is the date of the game – Sept 13, 2003.

This is Swank Farms Corn Maze near Hollister, CA. Interestingly it’s a more recent image than most of the other pictures we’ve been able to date so far. The date? Kind of hard to miss… ;-)

This year’s corn maze doesn’t open until September, so you can still read about the one that we can see here.

Please note that some or all of the objects mentioned in this post are no longer visible on Google Earth or Google Maps.

Another corn maze this time at Escobar’s Dairy Farm, Rhode Island. I’ve rotated the maze for the thumbnail and you should be able to make out a lighthouse with “Escobar” in the beam, some rocks and a sailboat (which seems dangerously close to those rocks).

Each Year around Halloween, Arizona’s Schnepf Farms carve a maze into their 10-acre corn field and in 2004 they decided to forever immortalize Arizona’s love for talk show hostess Oprah Winfrey.
