Brainpark III is an office park outside Rotterdam which, while under construction a few years ago, had its name written in the dirt. Before you ask, yes there is a Brainpark I and II, a name so stupid they used it three times.

Sticking with members of the World Federation of Great Towers, this is Rotterdam’s 186 metre-high Euromast. Apparently the tower is built on a concrete block weighing 1,900,000 kilos!

You can see the view from the 100 metre-high restaurant on the official site, and Hans points out that the red structure on the water just to the south is another floating Chinese restaurant!

Aruba is a Caribbean island that forms a part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Sadly it’s not in very high resolution, but I’m posting it anyway as after I get married tomorrow my new wife and I will be jetting off to Aruba for our honeymoon!

Alex is back from his holiday now so himself and Olly will no doubt keep up the sightseeing posts in the next couple of weeks.

Amsterdam

There’s only a tiny amount of high-resolution Amsterdam. Dam Square in the centre of the city features a monument to Holland’s WWII dead and is outside of the Royal Palace (the big white building). Follow the roads to the east and you reach the world famous Red Light District.
