Fort McHenry, Baltimore

This is Fort McHenry in Baltimore. It was during the Battle of Baltimore, September 13-14th 1814, that Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the poem “Defence of Fort McHenry” which was later renamed “The Star Spangled Banner” and adopted as the national anthem of the United States.

Two stadiums in downtown Baltimore, Maryland – on the top is Camden Yards where the Baltimore Orioles play and below that is M&T Bank Stadium where the Baltimore Ravens play.

Mormon Temple, Bethesda

Jon Bell submitted this Mormon Temple in Bethesda. He said: “This thing always scared me growing up as my parents drove around the beltway”. Well it might be scary from the ground level but to me it looks like a giant Birthday Cake ;-)
