I’m totally going to have that stuck in my head today.
hey, i live 2 blocks from there. look very closely, i’m waving at the camera.
ED !!! WOW I CAN SEE YOU !!!
If you look at the area adjacent to all the big white enclosed studios, directly east, you can see a little town square with a gazebo in the middle and some little buildings around it creating a village-like appearance. I’m 99% confident this is the set for “Gilmore Girls,” a WB series that uses that town square set all the time for its fictional town of Stars Hollow.
Yup, that’s Stars Hollow alright, which is also the same area where the filmed “The Music Man.” Working form that view, I found the Warner Brothers Ranch (the old Columbia Studios) about a mile to the North/Northwest. In the middle of that lot is the “Friends” fountain, and the curvy streets around the grass with the fountain and the swimming pool have the houses for “Bewitched,” “The Partridge Family,” “I Dream of Jeannie,” and more.

When this satellite image was taken the “Gilmore Girls” crew was filming outside of Luke’s Diner. You can see the big white diffusion silks wrapped around the front of Lukes and the 20′ x 20′ used silk to difuse the sunlight on the end of a condor crane. The people on the street are crew and extras. If I only knew what day this photo was shot I could figure out exactly what episode and scene was being shot.
The fountain was used in Bewitched. Darrin was depressed about Samantha not growing old because she was a witch. He would she wouldnt. He stayed in that park by the fountain all day and thought alone. He was very sad. The squirrels would talk to him. I wish I could go to the fountain and experience that place .I would sit and think. Darrin (the first Darrin)was a cool dude . I wish I could hang out with him. His passing saddens me. Dick York……….REMEMBER!
