Glen Canyon Dam
Sunday, 22nd May 2005 by Alex Turnbull
This is the Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona. What's great about this post is the bridge that extends across the valley in front of the dam, casting an excellent shadow on the dam itself. The dam's construction began in 1956, and although it was not dedicated until 1966, it was able to begin blocking the flow of the river in 1963.
You’re right, that’s a dam good shadow.
Boom boom.
This one looks extraordinary cool in google earth. Way cooler than hoover dam.
Try tilting this view in Google Earth and you discover something funny about how Google Earth deals with elevation.
Bill Quinn asks, how low is the water level in feet from the 560 foot full level?
