OH FOR GODS SAKE!! it was clearly a joke! but it is much more fun this way.
The lake is frozen, creating a ice covering. The ice is very smooth and creates a mirror effect.
When the satellite took a picture, it in essense took a picture of itself. What you are actually seeing is a reflection of components of the satellite… a refelction of the lens and circuitry in the lens, or everything behind the lens.
It looks magnified because the zoom is so great that small reflection makes the satellite huge in comparison. Example is when you hold a camera lens up to something and look at the reflection of the image on the actual glass, it looks smaller due to the shape of the lens, thus everything inside the camera would look huge in comparison.
So now you know…
just came from the bottom of that smelly mass of water. It´s just industrial/toxic waste, I tell you.

Why is there all of this speculation – if you turn on the borders options in Google Earth, you’ll it’s Just North of KC, MO – I Giant F’ing city, It would be easier to have someone who knows someone in KC to go check this shit out. That’s not Crystalization – by the way, it’s just to large of space between the straight lines.

WAIT!! Trimble Wildlife Lake, that’s what Google Earth says this location is, Trimble Wildlife Lake – I’m researching this shit.
Trimble Wildlife Lake was created after the Army Corps of Engineers built the Smithville Dam, flooding an area previously used for aquaculture. Round Valley Reservoir in NJ is another place where they flooded a town to create the reservoir and it looks just like…water.
The image of the lake was taken from an airplane, not a satellite. You ppl crack me up!
Maybe Douglas Adams knew something we didn’t. Maybe the Earth really is a giant computer program commissioned by highly intelligent pan-dimensional beings (who appear in our dimension as mice) as part of their quest to find the Ultimate Question that corresponds to the Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything!

I’m producing a new reality show called “X-testers” on TLC where two hollywood SFX artists try to recreate mysterious phenomena (kind of an X-files meets Mythbusters). We’ll be heading out to Tempe, AZ on Sept. 17th to “X-test” the Google orbs that appeared over LA and Florida. I am looking for three sightseeing “witnesses” to feature on camera who believe that it could be a UFO. These people will be featured to set-up the mystery and will remain on camera during the segment and interact with the “X-testers” as they fashion their effects. In the end, the witnesses will be shown the results and the conclusion will be examined. The tone of the show is fun and positive. This is not a situation where anyone is discredited or made to look foolish. Currently scheduled for Sat, Sept 17th, it will require your time most of the day.

L’histogramme de la couleur de cette image a été recalé sur une autre image pour rendre uniforme l’assemblage des différentes prises. Seulement voila, les couleurs présentes au centre du lac n’étaient pas présente sur l’échantillons de base. Résultat : on a un décalage des couleurs abérant. Ajoutez simplement que ce décalage à rendu visible les différences de calibrations du CDD et vous obtenez cette image.
Normalement toute personne qui a déjà bossé sur des images satélites à déjà été confronté à ce genre de mixture.”

If you carefully observe the map, this lake is in a region of map with different color. Actually this is an X-Ray / Thermographic satellite image. This is not the surface of the lake, this is the BOTTOM! Yes, under the water! This can be an ancient kind (made by aliens??) of neuronic computer that is hiding its existence under the waters of this lake for many hundredth thousand years…
That makes sense nEC. I’ve seen before thermographic satellite images and that is exactly how they look like.
nEC, even though the analysis that you propose is correct, I disagree on the neuronic computer theory. I most incline to suggest that this is a “ruin” of some long lost civilisation that has left the earth for other planets/star systems long ago…

As for the lake, it’d be nice if such a thing did exist, although I’d personally think (hope!) such pranks wouldn’t take place at Google.

a bizarre glitch with the satelite imaging-either that or aliens!
What I believe it is, and this follows with where this “overlay” image that many of the Photoshoopers contend with, is that its a reflection of light back into the lens. See where you can’t see it? Its the icy, rough, non-reflective parts. Where it is, is all where it would be reflective. It’s light bouncing back at the camera, and the image you see in the lake part is the inside of the satellite’s image processing hardware.

That is one of the strangest bits of imagery I’ve seen. I can believe either “someone having fun” or some of the processing electronics getting into the game at some point along the way. But not the “light reflecting off the water (or ice, whichever) back into the camera”. Buildings show the airplane was more or less directly overhead. Shadows show the sun at a steep angle.

This has been inserted to protect the copyrights of the map owners. Several pieces of false information is inserted into the global map, and this one is a fractal image with the contents being a processor diagram. If someone were to use Google Earth to programmatically extract the maps to build their own application, Google could prove authenticity of ownership by pointing to several points of false data… of which this is just one example. Many reference sources do this. There are a few music encyclopaedias that include fictional bands, so that were the books copied the fictional bands could be held up as proof that it was stolen. 🙂
