Navy Pier

Chicago's Navy Pier host numerous entertainment facilities including a 148 ft Ferris Wheel, a 44ft high musical carousel with 36 hand-painted animals, the 1500 seat skyline stage, a 7 story Shakespeare theatre complex, an 18 hole mini-golf course, 2 museums (the Children's Museum and the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows), a 40ft high wave swinger, an IMAX theatre and a partridge in a pear tree. Anyone have coordinates for the partridge in a pear tree? I can’t seem to find it.
there’s also a Beer Garden at the end for the adults. By the time you get there you’ll be dead tired – its a long walk to the end and back
Also, there’s a cool building in google earth right before the pier starts
lostdog, you not see the partridge? Right there next to the two turtle doves?
Sorry. I couldn’t help it ;-P
Hey, and here’s the spot nearby where I proposed to my fiancee:

Here is an odd sight. A cruise ship in a LAKE! View Placemark
wow… yeah… no one will read this but William, that’s the Chicago Yacht Club’s ship that doesn’t go anywhere. Although there are cruise ships that are a bit smaller but about that size that cruise the great lakes all the time. π it’s not that odd.
Theresa,
I read your comment! So why do they have a cruise ship that doesn’t go anywhere? Seems a bit stupid to me.
The ship is of historical significance and the yacht club uses it for special functions.
Sigh… Look south at what’s happened to what used to be Meigs airport. Anyone who’s played any of Microsoft’s flight simulators should be at least a little bummed out about its demise. https://www.googlesightseeing.com/maps?p=&c=&t=k&hl=en&ll=41.860197,-87.607083&z=15
I heard it used to go somewhere but the engine seized up..
