Space Centre, Bremen
Thursday, 11th August 2005 by James Turnbull
This 'space-craft like' building was designed to house 'Space Centre', an interactive space exhibition. The centre closed last September, despite being open for less than a year.
You can also see what is apparently a "Ariane 44LP Orbital launch vehicle" to the West of the building, just beside its boosters.
Thanks: Rob B
Actually, its not a space shuttle replica, but an Ariane 44LP – see http://www.flickr.com/photos/82365423@N00/616516 or http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariane_%28Rakete%29
I can’t believe it closed after only a few months. What a waste!
In contrast, the Space Centre in Leicester has been a great success (surprisingly for a Millennium project). It’d be worth seeing from the air, if they ever post high-resolution photos for Leicester… For now, see here.
Is this another Taillibert?
It looks like Triforce in Zelda’s game 😛
This is not only a Ariane 44LP replica but a free-fall tower, makes a lot of fun. We went there last August, just 2 weeks before it closed.
It´s still closed and I don´t know if it will be opened again…. it´s a 500 Million euro grave…
But the cinema (called Cinespace) is still opened and it´s one of the best in Bremen. If you go there at 10 o’clock in the evening you´ll be the only person there… perfect for a date 😉
