Big Blue Norwegian Boat

Yet another kind of Norwegian boat. This time, a great whopping blue cruise ship, which by my measurements (bear in mind that this was my thumb and forefinger), is about 220 metres long. Who can identify this one?

I think it is the DFDS Oslo to Copenhagen (Crown of Scandinavia)
Sorry, I was wrong, it is in fact the Colorline ‘Fantasy’, Oslo to Keil in Germany.

Oops, my comment was in response to your first post John, I think it might well be the ‘Fantasy’…
Actually, I’ve examined it a little closer, and I’m now sure that it’s not the Fantasy (the bow and stern just don’t look the same).
I think it’s the 205 metre Prinsesse Ragnhild…
Well it really depends on when the picture was takem as the Prinsesse Ragnhild is now based in Bergen. It could be Harrold, Fantasy or Festival… 🙂

Y’all seem to know a lot about ships (ship spotters? Sail enthusiasts?) Is that half submerged ship still in Hong Kong harbour? It is all high res but i cant find it (it was also in a James Bond film – see my Norway wake post)
This post is quite fun, the first ship is defenitly one of the ‘colour line’ and is simply a ferry from oslo to Denmark (Christansund / Kopenhagen) or Kiel. All the tourist area’s on deck are blue, it’s a kind of roster to keep gripp on it. Funny to see also ‘the radiance of the seas’ is mentioned here. I have vistited the ship once in the ‘Eemshaven’ (netherlands), it’s a really beautifull ship.
Well sorry to break it to you guys but it is my boat, and its really 223 meters long, its really nice, if any one wants ill take you guys out one day. 🙂
That cruise ship sure does look like SS Norway.
What you see is Color Lines Prinsesse Ragnhild, witch sails between Oslo and Kiel in Germany, the same route as the new Color Line Fantasy. The harbour is also Color Lines. Every Color Line ship are docked there when they are in Oslo, including Fantasy.
It is definitely the Color Line Terminal in Oslo, which is used by three cruise ferries: the Kronprins Harald, the Color Fantasy and the Color Festival. The first two dock bow in, the latter stern in. For my money, it’s the Color Fantasy.
She is definitely the M/S Prinsesse Ragnhild, 205.25 meters overall, with a capacity of 1900 passengers and 600 cars. The photo is taken before the end of april 2005, while she was still serving the route between Oslo and Kiel in Germany. Now she provides Colour Lines’ service between Bergen and Stavanger in Norway and Hirtshals, Denmark.
