EURO 2004, the UEFA European Football Championship, was held between 12 June and 4 July 2004 in ten stadiums around Portugal. Of those ten stadiums seven are availible in high-resolution…
- Estádio do Dragão (Dragon Stadium) (Porto, capacity 52000)
- Estádio do Bessa Século XXI (Porto, capacity 30000)
- Estádio da Luz (Stadium of light) (Lisbon, capacity 65000) - Thumbnail #1
- Estádio José Alvalade (Lisbon, capacity 52000)
- Estádio Municipal de Braga (Braga, capacity 30000)
- Estádio Municipal de Aveiro (Aveiro, capacity 30000) - Thumbnail #2
- Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques (Guimarães, capacity 30000)
(Algarve, Cidade de Coimbra & Dr. Magalhães Pessoa are in low-resolution areas)

A few more curiosities: – 6 of the stadiums were brand new, the other 4 were extensively expanded for Euro 2004; – the Braga stadium is carved into a rocky mountain, giving it a very original and surreal setting, the idea of renown architect Souto Moura.
The Braga one is my favourite. It is so unusual, but I’m not sure I’d like watching footy there. As I always stand behind the goal at Telford United, i’d be perched on a rock if I wanted to do that at Braga!
