Stonefridge

Welcome to Stonefridge. Yes, this really is a replica of Stonehenge - made entirely from refrigerators. Built using only human-power, the monument is now 2.5 fridges high.
Apparently the artist (yes, this is art) needs only 60 more fridges to complete his 8-year-old dream. There's an article about Stonefridge at the Albuquerque Tribune which has details of how to donate your old fridges.
Thanks to Russ.
Western Nebraska has its own interpretation of Stonehenge named, apropriately, Carhenge. I’ve been hoping Google would get high-res shots of the area, but it is surrounded by farmland and unlikely to get reimaged soon. But here’s a link to its webpage!

I was going to say, shouldn’t it be called Fridgehenge?
If you ask me, its MORE likely to be photographed if its in a vast expanse of farmland. But then, so’s the Emley Moor tower, so I guess pictures of farmland aren’t all bad.
Johnathan I agree, it should totally be Fridgehenge! But apparently the artist didn’t think so :-/
I guess it’s because of the -ge ending that he named it that way.
Never mind vast expanses of farmland – to be truly authentic, Stonefridge needs to be sited in between two busy roads…
It’s actually called “Stonefridge: a Fridgehenge.” Click on the links and you’ll see.
I’ve been to carhenge! It’s pretty cool 🙂
I hope my neigbors don’t get this idea.
Nice. And I sure hope these babies have been emptied of all their CFC before being turned into a work of art…
I hang out here all the time. it is fridgehenge. and is very climbable!
Is it true that Fridgehenge has been destroyed by vandals?
