Prison Break
Monday, 27th March 2006 by James Turnbull
Could you break your brother out of here? Joliet Correctional Center was closed in 2002 and now plays the part of Fox River State Penitentiary in the compulsive watching stupidity that is Prison Break.
The prison also featured in another story of brotherly love, as it's where Jake is released from at the beginning of The Blues Brothers.
Another piece of interest – right across the road from that building is the location of the old Joliet Iron Works. You can see the pits from the blast furnace here:

and you can learn more about the place at several places, including here:

It is a fun place to visit if you live in the area.
“Well, thank you, pal! The day I get out of prison my own brother picks me up in a police car!”
And following the railway you can see a looooooooooooong train….
It starts here
And it ends here
A rough calculation of the train’s length (“A ojo de buen cubero” as we say here) is around 1,3km!!
I made the calculation again for you:
2268meters
or
1,41 miles
What light?
Here is the New York state prison at Sing Sing, in a scenic location right on the banks of the Hudson River:

A busy commuter train line runs right through the middle of the prison
Is it just me or does every American sight have a baseball dimond on it somewhere?
Too bad they closed it … they used to serve a wicked Pepper Steak.
this is the best
I wonder if that scrap card is the same one that they used in episode 19??
