Rock n Roll
Monday, 7th August 2006 by James Turnbull
There's nothing more Rock n Roll than a swimming pool in the shape of a guitar, so I wonder which rock god owns this pad near L'Estartit in Spain.
Actually, I take that back - having your whole house built into the shape of a guitar is truly Rock n roll, so hats off the the anonymous owner of this guitar house in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Thanks: Paul Raps & Bob Allen
Come on now! A guitar symbol doesn’t equal rock and roll! That is an acoustic guitar (in the first picture). Please change the post because there are hundreds of different genres of music that use the guitar other than Rock n Roll. Talk about stereotypes… You are creating one now. Come on, listen to some music, and stop looking at google maps ALL THE TIME!
The definition of rock n roll is NOT a GUITAR!
I am sorry you’re so offended Brad. Yes, it’s a stereotype, but I can’t image many acoustic guitars are crying their eyes out, as they probably see it as A JOKE.
ooookaaayy…. brad i think you need to calm down a little bit. I can’t work out if you are a defender of non-rock-related guitars or a defender of authentic non-acoustic rock’n’roll symbology or just a bit weird and over-enthusiastic.
Yep, a guitar (particularly an acoustic one) does not automatically say ‘rock and roll’, but having a pool made in the shape of one screams it!
And anyway, if we did stop looking at Google Maps all the time then you lot would complain about that too… 😉
It’s funny, it looks like that is a community pool… not clearly connected to anyone’s yard. Do you suppose the hole in the soundbox is actually deeper like it appears? That would be so rock n’ roll! lol
interesting thought – that is huge for a pool
but look just a little southwest https://www.googlesightseeing.com/maps?p=&c=&t=k&hl=en&ll=42.049062,3.165007&z=17
see the clubs, diamonds and spades ? maybe the guitar is also some kind of fountain or landscaping water effect.
Keeping up with the Joneses, part 3?
(…or 4 or 5)
It looks like its a pool for use by the people in that suburb area. One pool for every 10 houses or so? not bad for a community. not its just if you want to swim in the diamond or the spade or the guitar.
The real brandon comin through! haha

left out the google link…
Just to the south of the guitar, there’s another pool that is possibly shaped like a grand piano (the pianist would sit on the western edge). Unfortunately, that is not quite as rock ‘n’ roll, but I had better check with Brad before I label it as representing some other music genre.
Um, that house is clearly a VIOLIN. Or possibly a cello… anyway, most definitely not a guitar. Quit fiddling around down there!
if you look on the house you can clearly see a “sound hole” in a circular shape as far as i know NO violin has F holes in the shape of a circle under the strings…. but dont take my word for it. how about the guy who built it…

A famous example of a guitar-shaped pool in my neck of the woods….

Having swum in it a few times I can confirm that the guitar shaped pool in L’Estartit is a communal pool. The neck is shallow for kids to play in although not very wide. The rest is just a normal pool but quite deep if I remember correctly.
I think its modelled on a Les Pool guitar 🙂 Sorry rubbish joke

Clearly. Or possibly… anyway, most definitely not
You should be in politics man
Memphis is where it’s at… probably
I found an address on the same street (Carrer de les Palmeres) that says the site is a member of a hospitality group or “Membre del Gremi Comarcal d’Hostaleria i Turisme de Sabadell”. I wonder if this is a small or private resort.
Ok, although it’s not completely clear, Disney’s All Star Music resort has a guitar-shaped pool:
