George W. Bush’s Texas Ranch
Tuesday, 24th October 2006 by Alex Turnbull
CNBC: "I'm curious, have you ever googled anybody? Do you use Google?"
President George W. Bush: "Occasionally. One of the things I've used on the Google is to pull up maps. It's very interesting to see – I've forgot the name of the program – but you get the satellite, and you can – like, I kinda like to look at the ranch. It remind me of where I wanna be sometimes."

Interesting that el presidente has a pool that has been artfully hidden behind trees. You never see this when he’s down there on the the ranch “mending his fences” or whatever he does down there. I guess a big pool would take away from his cowboy image! What a joke…

are you kidding me! The man lives in Texas, have you ever lived there? You be ther president of the united states of america, and then tell me you don’t want a pool! That’s a sorry thing to pick to bitch about!
Check out this, just south of the ranch…

Maybe reporters all being lined up and frisked?
The land that surrounds Bush’s ranch was all farm land before he bought in. Now that he’s there, his land is called a ranch. Ranches have cattle and horses, and farms grow stuff. Well, usually that’s how it goes, but when Bush bought the acreage in 1999, it had been a pig farm. Not a pig ranch, a pig farm. In Texas, pig farms are not considered the creme de la creme of agriculture. President Lyndon Johnson, who actually was a Texan, had a hell of a ranch. He had longhorn cattle and deer and ranchy looking stuff on his ranch. Maybe a few wild javelina around, but no damn, stinky, oinking pigs. You always see Bush on news clips at his pig farm with a chainsaw, cutting what looks like the same mesquite branch year after year. Or clearing brush. Bush doesn’t have horses or cattle on his ranch. He doesn’t even ride horses. He rides a bike and drives a big shiny Suburban on his ranch. Not a pickup truck, a Suburban, like he’s some goofy soccer mom. Real Texas ranchers don’t ride bikes on their ranches. That’s just some east coast sissy shit, unless you’re Lance Armstrong, and he doesn’t ride a nubby tire mountain bike over brushy, rocky terrain or pretend to be a jock. The media never shows anything happening on Bush’s pig farm. Just Bush with the chainsaw or Bush clearing brush with his little sickle. I once owned three acres of undeveloped land in the Texas Hill Country. Once or twice, I went out with some friends and cleared a little brush for a party I was throwing, but it almost broke my back, ruined my hands and it all grew back in about three days. Clearing brush is the land equivalent of writing love letters in the sand at the beach. It’s strictly symbolic unless you go in with a huge backhoe or something and dig it up and haul it off. Bush is not a rancher, he’s not even a Texan. He was born in Connecticut of blueblood Yankee parents and he went to school at snooty blueblood prep schools in New England. Then on to Harvard and Yale, where he was a cheerleader.
One more thing: As far as bush and his vacations go, of the first 9 months he spent in office as pResident, Mike Allen of the Washington Post did a report in an Aug. 7, 2001 article that Bush had spent all or part of 54 days of his presidency by that time in Crawford, Texas, almost a quarter of his presidency, and that he had spent 42 percent of his presidency (including weekends) at vacation spots or en route.
I assume these are not being used for crop dustin’

You’re right Patrick, he’s not a rancher. He’s the President. Clearing brush is the least of his problems.
I dont know if its the same in the US but in the UK there are certain tax breaks in running a ‘farm’ so i wouldnt put it past Dubya to be on some tax evasion scam that comes with owning a ranch.
Cookie monster…..you would be amazed at some of the “scams” this SOB is involved in. Clearing brush is the least of them.
Wow Patrick, you really have a chip on your shoulder about old Dubya….either that, or not much else to do except complain about him and his “ranch”!
How about 100 chips on the nations shoulder for the month of October alone?

Thank you, Patrick. I remind everyone I meet that bush is not a Texan. May he soon disappear into the sunset, never to return.
I love you, Patrick.
President George W. Bush is a fine person and displays noble instincts for governing. He is interested in substance rather than photo ops.
Yall are a bunch of idiots. Why don’t you spend more time trying to fit people into your TV-made stereotypes and defining things you obviously don’t know anything about. Just because it was once a pig farm doesn’t mean it will ALWAYS be a pig farm. To have an ag exemption you have to have livestock, and meet certain other criteria. Ranchers don’t really ride horses everywhere, they drive their “ranch trucks”, which sometimes are nicer than their personal vehicles, or they ride 4 wheelers, motorcycles, helecopters, or ultralites.
As far as clearing brush, it is often done by hand. You cannot clear a fenceline with a dozer without destroying the fence, and having to rebuild it. You cannot clear brush from under mesquite trees you want to keep, without possible destroying the tree with it. I’m sorry if your not competent enough to either know how to clear brush, or take care of it after it is cleared (shredding) but do not take your inadequecies out on someone else. I quarantee the reason he clears brush himself is to forget about people like you who criticize him because you are jealous of him. Jealous because some of us aren’t afraid to get out there and work with our hands every once in a while. Were not scared of getting cut, or snakes, bees, or other things. I’m sure he rides his bike out there because it is the ONLY place he can do it without having to worry about imbeciles like you trying to shoot him. Besides you don’t haul off brush you moron, you burn it.
As far as him being a texan is concerned, he resides in Texas….that makes him a Texan. People of the Lone Star State are not so preoccupied with trying to be something were not. If you wanna move to Texas, then come on. I don’t care if he was born in Djibouti, raised in Iran, and went to school on Bejing, he lives here now, hes one of us. We do not have anything in our constitution that says that you have to have been born here.
Maybe you can get a petition going that will reveal all the goings on at the Crawford Ranch, maybe he will give us a tour of the ranch and wildlife that you say doesn’t exist there. Maybe George Bush could be the first president EVER to not take any time off, and be able to relax in solitude every once in a while. After all its only 8 years, who needs a break from being leader of the free world for 8 years?
Get a life, and quit spouting pure lies just to try and make a point.
Yes ! Wait till they get to experiance what barry is gonna do for them.
I heard that president bush rents, but does not own his ranch. iS THAT TRUE?
The GW ranch is thy type of home Al Gore preaches about. It uses about 25% of the electricity normally used by a dwelling of this size due to the energy efficient systems such as water cooling the home by pumping the water deep below the ground and then circulating it through the house. I guess some people talk about what others should do, like Al Gore, and then there are others who quietly walk the walk, and live and let live. Let the jealous and self righteous heap scorn upon the humble man from Texas; I find the man to be a true leader with never an ugly thing to say about anyone, including those who despise them. This man seems to lack the ego of all his ememies.
Finding what it cost to build this energy efficent house with the 300 foot wells and what ever else whould be interesting. I suspect the design and building the compound probably cost more then most Americans earn in their lifetime. Any data on the costs out there ? or perhaps is this data stored in the same place the DWI ticket that was lost ?
Well, well, – the Dem’s claimed many a thing “put us in power to lower gas prices”. Here they are in power and gas prices are now the highest in history. I guess they lied again and the fools that followed remain as blind as the rear end of a pig. Just look at Patrick’s postings above. A typical Dem. Full of hatred and self absorbing ignorance. I tell myself that someday will come and they will realize that the need to think for themselves is greater than the need of self entitlements. Then again my wife tells me that once your as slave to another mans ignorance – your always a slave. God Bless them and guide them.
if im king cobra then that means my son is prince cobra signed donte pittmanowner of the mob
wetback is a very derogatory term, patrick.
Patrick,
You forgot to mention that the Crawford “ranch” is only GWB’s SECOND (winter) home … anyone got some energy stats for his primary residence?
Comparing a 4,000 ft vacation home, which is not a full time residence to a 10,000 ft mansion that IS a full time residence (likely for an extended family as well) is like comparing the annual fuel consumption of a Honda Civic that is hardly used to a Chevy Tahoe that is used to cart kids around all the time.
Its just stupid.
I am proud to have President Bush a citizen of Texas. Like him or not, he is a man of conviction and determination. He warned the American People that the war would be long and difficult. I am glad we have a President that stays the course and doesn’t sway with polls or act like a monday morning quarterbacks. Complain as much as you like, but we are safer today!
