Follow the Yellow Brick Road…
Wednesday, 1st November 2006 by James Turnbull
"We're Not in Kansas Anymore" but we are in the much more magical Fargo, North Dakota where there's a real-life Yellow Brick Road.
Originally laid in the 70s for Trollwood Performing Arts School's Wizard of OZ performance the real yellow bricks have since been replaced with concrete. The road still doesn't go anywhere though, just around in circles to spell out "OZ" when viewed from above.

Oh – I have fond memories of that path. I grew up in Fargo and saw the 1970’s production the path was built for. It was originally yellow painted bricks but was replaced with concrete pressed into the shape of bricks about 15 years ago. I took some original bricks and put them in my garden. When I was in my teens I spent many summers working in that park on other outdoor productions. The path gets covered most summers when the river floods.
Here’s a better one, still yellow: View Placemark
