Google Sightseeing is 2 Today
Friday, 6th April 2007 by James Turnbull
Today, April 6th, is the second anniversary of Google Sightseeing's launch! We were planning all sorts of celebratory new features, but we're traditionally late with such things, so you may have to wait a few more days.
We are also very busy planning our talk for Refresh Edinburgh, which is today at 1pm. If you're in the Edinburgh area please come along and heckle.
Update: See my post over at Rotacoo for a summary of the Refresh event.
Happy Birthday!
Congrats! Keep up the good work!
Woooo! (still…pretty slow!) :p
Congratulations!
Thank you for all the interesting sights and stories!
HAPPY B-DAY!
April 4th – Cookie Monster’s birthday April 5th – Cookie Monster’s daughters birthday April 6th – GSS’s birthday! Cool Happy Birthday
Wow. Doesn’t seem like 2 years. Congratulations.
Happy birthday, and hello from Edinburgh Refresh π
OMG!!!
Happy birthday!
So here’s a birthday present: a look at what GSS looked like, ~2 years ago: http://web.archive.org/web/20050427062511/https://www.googlesightseeing.com/
What happened to Olly? ……..or do we not talk about that?
Congrats on a fabulous two years guys!
I can’t believe I’ve been visiting this city for 2 years >.
Thanks for the Congrats guys – here’s to the next two years!
@Cookie, Unlike myself and Alex, Olly has a real life, so didn’t have the time to dedicate to GGSS. He’s still alive and kicking an even posts to his blog every now and then.
Hello!
Congratulations guys! Great talk at Edinburgh Refresh, not enough heckling though.
Congratulations on 2 years, i’ve been a lurker and occasional poster on here since the beginning, and i’m looking forward to the future of this site.
Congrats on your birthday, guys. Mine’s also April 6th, so this makes it extra special. Looking at the archived site that Trogdor posted makes me miss the satellite graphic at the top of the old version, I hope it’s coming back soon.
Well Chris W, I sincerely hope you’re kidding, but just in case you’re not, here’s some more old headers we had in the first year for you to reminisce over π
The very first draft, the first update (did anyone ever see this one?), the original header, the one Google asked us to change, and finally the one we stuck with for most of the rest of the year!
