Giant Man-Shaped Lake
Friday, 15th June 2007 by Alex Turnbull
It would seem that someone has spent a lot of time and money to create this lake, in the shape of an extremely happy looking man! I'm not sure what he's got to be so happy about though. I mean, this guy's manhood isn't a patch on the Cerne Abbas Giant 😉
Anyway, I haven't got the slightest clue why somebody went to all this effort. Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks to whoever these guys got this location from in the first place (they seem to have a bad habit of neglecting to include any attribution you see).
Mini dick.
Looks like God fell off his shelf.
I betcha it is some sort of wacko fundamentalist religious cult. That sort of nonsense is very big in SA.
Hold on, this nonsense you mean may be very big in South America, but not Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia have some sort of spiritual cure and other stuff like that. We are normal people despite of everything. lol
I’ve been poking around google trying to find an answer to this, but so far haven’t been able to come across anything. Want to agree with Patrick at 8:33, though – something about the location of the lake, the positioning of the surrounding buildings (?), and the general shape of the lake itself to me screams some sort of spiritual significance.
One thing I did learn this afternoon, however: did you know that the country Brazil was named after the nut, and not the other way around?

I think I found the spot where this used to be. If you open Google Earth and go to April 30, 2007 you will see a big whitespot here. I’m guessing they were making it at that time since the article is dated in June.

For some reason, this story from a few months ago comes to mind… http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/154586
It’s just a fishing community in countryside of Sao Paulo state, in Brazil. These places, also known as “fish-and-pay”, are very popular down here. Too boring for me!
Looks like a good way to get rid of some extra cash or possibly illegal cash!
Mike, it’s not true that the country Brazil was named after the nut. My english is too bad to write such a long story, but the country was named after a type of wood (red as fire), when the portuguese navigators discovered the land, back in the 16th century… The nut was named after the country.
Brazil was not named after the nut, specially because in Brazil (portuguese) the nut is called “Castanha do Pará”. Also, the nut was discovered AFTER Brazil was already named, since the nut is original to the amazon rainforest, while the portuguese settlers first landed in the southeast coast of Brazil.
The fact is that the coast of Brazil was full of PAU BRAZIL (Brazil Wood), a red colored tree, native from Africa, used in Europe to make ships.
The name of Brazil Wood comes from the color of the tree, RED as a BRAZIER.
Patrick, weird …
Dunno why – i cant remember of any ‘mass ufo-gods-freaks suicide cult’ at least here in Brazil.
Unfortunately, we cant say the same about USA right? =/
Cut the crap dude, stupid comment.
