Giant of Córdoba takes a bath
Tuesday, 15th July 2008 by Alex Turnbull
Giants have a hard time getting clean. I mean, baths aren't usually built big enough to fit your average giant, right? Which is the only sensible explanation as to why there's a giant sitting in the Guadalquivir river in Córdoba, Spain.
Hey!, one brother of this giant is drowning! Hand of another giant There are more ground-level pics here
My favorite is this one in Washington DC: View Placemark http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Awakening_(sculpture).
His knee is a good place to watch the sunset or planes taking off at National Airport.
Simon, in case you weren’t aware, the giant at Hains Point was moved earlier this year – it’s up in PG County now.

Does anyone know what has happened to Homre Rio, Cordoba. I was there last week and he has disappeared – Washed away!!
Burney, I’m not in the area, but according to Wikipedia, on November 22, 2007, the sculpture got loose for its anchors and floated downstream until it got stuck on the banks where it was rescued by firemen.
I suppose they are rethinking the whole anchoring system, in order to place it again.
But they’ve taken quite long, I think.
Thanks Eduardo, I went to the Tourist Info and they told me he was there – so they need to get updated!! Hope he is returned soon.
