On this day: Camille Pissarro Was Born

On July 10, 1830, painter Camille Pissarro was born on the island of St Thomas, then part of the Danish West Indies. He spent his teenage years at boarding school in France, and returned there at age 25, quickly developing a strong reputation for his Impressionist paintings. This work, Sunset at Eragny, hangs in The Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
