The Google vehicle has not hit the donkey, it is just simply going for a roll in the dirt after the vehicle has passed. I’ve owned horses for many years and you can tell from each separate frame as the vehicle gets further away. What a stupid, pointless article!!
Pass the donkey when you pass him reverse the cammera and keep moving forword frame by frame .While you moving you zoom in you can sea the anima standing up and chasing a passing car .He is a donkey allright .
Also don’t forget that cars in Botswana travel on the left, not the right. That would seem to enforce the idea the donkey was rolling around in the sand before the vehicle arrived. It probably stopped and waited for it to rise and walk off the road.

The dust trail from the truck is on the other side of the road due to wind, not a swerve to hit the donkey.

If you follow along after the donkey is on the ground you will later see him start chasing the other vehicle.
The animal was up and walking around after Google passed. Look back in later frames.

If every you see a StreetView car, quickly lay on the road and roll around. You could be famous, even make some money!

In previous frame, if you scroll to see the dirt road floor, you see the donkey on it. The donkey is underneath the can wheels
