Huh, interesting. I zoomed out and scrolled around to find that it’s nearby a string of islands off the east coast of NA that I had no idea existed. Great find!
By far the coolest plane in flight finds yet!
here’s a similar plane a little further up the coast

Cool, but here’s two flying near each other, along with a ship of some sort.

This isn’t off the coast of South Carolina… but it is off the coast of North Carolina. Probably based out of Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC.

That would be very unusual, as the F-14 is a Navy aircraft, not Air Force.
Oops, thank Dobber.
hehe, in fact, I was looking for windsurfers (there are many to the south Placemark: Google Maps / Google Earth ). I went to Cape Hatteras a few times when I was a kid and this is where I have learned windsurfing. It’s one of the best spot on east coast.
I bet you can tell how fast they are going by how far apart the blue image is from the rest.
Okay, my bet is all three of these planes are headed here: Placemark: Norfolk Naval Base / Google Earth. Theres even a few more F-14s at the airport to the east..
I’m pretty sure that the two other planes that Rob/Jay K found are F/A-18s.
that’s true, an MP
Too cool! In this one frame you can seem some F/A-18’s, Blackhawk Helos and some AWACS at Norfolk Air Station Placemark: Google Maps / Google Earth
looks like there is a navy ship out there on the NC coast too

I just spent last week there (Outer Banks, North Carolina) and saw the same planes. There F/A-18 Hornets, mostly. Their carrier is in harbor in the Norfolk Navy Base.
Ironically, this is all near the site of the first flight, *ever*

A little bit north of the Tomcat is the First Flight Memorial in Kitty Hawk.

no AWACS in frame,
not much of anything, actually
All good finds, but where the most likely place they are from in Naval Air Station Oceana near Viriginia beach. You can see dozens of F-18s and several F-14 with their wings folded up here:

There are two f-18 off the coast of Pea Island, south of Nags Head. See if you can find them?
