This is the tiny Scottish island of Little Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde, near Glasgow. It has a jetty, two cottages, three vacant houses, a lighthouse complex and a twelve bedroom baronial mansion… and it’s currently for sale.

The price? A cool 3 million pounds.

  1. I’ve already started a charity fund to buy it for myself.

I guess that wouldn’t be charity. Hmm.

  2. Alex says:

Maybe we can start a Google Sightseeing fund to buy it for all of us!

Maybe it could be used as an experiment. Power could be had with the addition of windmills, solar panels, and the harnessing of tidal waves. No fossil fuels would be used. Electricity would be used to power any vehicles. All home computers would use open source software like Linux or BSD. Now the only question is “Who’s got the money?” Oh yes. And where do we get the pizzas and beer?

I’ve cycled round cumbrae, I even have a little badge to prove it!
