Alstom Factory, Barcelona

Tuesday, 8th November 2005 by James

ALSTOM is a large French company whose businesses are power generation and manufacturing trains (including the Eurostar). I’ve never heard of them before but their Barcelona factory has a large example of the logo. The name is not an acronym, yet the company always writes ALSTOM anyway.

Thanks: Stefano

Yeah, I think they made the Montréal Metro as well. The electronic ads in the Metro are run my ALSTOM Télémédia, or something like that… I wonder if Bombardier will get the contract some day, being a local company that makes trains amongst other things.

The name of the company derives from the French region of Alsace and the surname of the engineer Elihu Thomson.
