A caricature of Harry Caray, the legendary announcer for the Chicago Cubs, looks up at us from the roof of his Chicago restaurant.

Caray was famous for his frequent use of “Holy Cow!” and for leading the crowd in singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. There is a good biography on Wikipedia and you can read more about the restaurant building, and its secret chambers on the Harry Caray’s Homepage.

I thought Yankees announcer Phil Rizutto was famous for saying “Holy Cow”?

Why can’t “The Cubs win! The Cubs win!”? May someday when scientists find a way to clone hot dogs. They would become so abundant, they’d become our currency. 20 hot dogs would equal roughly a nickel… depending on the strength of the Yen… I’m not sure.

The Rosemont Harry Caray’s does not have his head atop it, despite being a ten minute walk from O’Hare airport.

Those two towers bellow Harry Caray’s are called “Marina Towers”. There is a marina in the basement. I used to live there. Caray’s has the best garlic-mashed potatoes.
