Check out this fantastic curly bridge, which connects mainland Honshū to one of the tiny islands of the Seto Inland Sea, Japan. It looks a bit like a tiny Lotus Bridge, but instead of allowing traffic to swap sides of the road, I believe this one is designed to join the higher mainland with the lower down island.

Or maybe if they’re the same height (I mean, sea-level is sea-level whether island or mainland) then its just due to the fact that there wasn’t room for long straight ramps on land to get the bridge up to a reasonable height that ships could pass underneath, so instead they made them curly. Neat design for sure.
Either way, looks most like TrackMania than real world - or for the more aged, Scalextrix

The bridge is level, and both sides have long ramps so I’d say definitly just a high bridge for ships.

As the castle was a temporary set, and the program was filmed about 20 years ago, castle does not remains any longer.
